May 16, 2007 John Adams Presidential $1 Coin Bags and Rolls Available May 17WASHINGTON - The United States Mint announced today that John Adams Presidential $1 Coin Bags and Rolls - bags of 250 coins and rolls of 25 coins - will be available beginning at noon (ET) on May 17, 2007. The bags will sell for $319.95, and the rolls for $35.95. The United States is honoring our Nation’s past Presidents with circulating Presidential $1 Coins featuring their images in the order that they served, beginning in 2007 with Presidents Washington, Adams, Jefferson and Madison. The United States Mint will issue four Presidential $1 Coins per year, and the reverse design of each will have a striking rendition of the Statue of Liberty. The composition of the new Presidential $1 Coins will be identical to that of the Golden Dollar featuring Sacagawea. Congress authorized the Presidential $1 Coins with the Presidential $1 Coin Act of 2005, which requires the Secretary of the Treasury to mint and issue $1 coins honoring the United States Presidents in the order in which they served. Coins honoring Thomas Jefferson and James Madison will be available later in the year.
